Day 4!!!

Today was a wild mix of hard work, pouring rain, and pure joy. We moved about a ton of cinder blocks—no exaggeration—and set up an assembly line to get it done efficiently. My job for the day was being the apprentice to Julio, and together we built the molds for the center structures of the concrete wall. We definitely got off to a rocky start (there may have been some confusion and a few wrong cuts), but by the end of the day, we were salsa dancing in the mud and laughing more than we were working. It was such a full-circle moment that reminded me how God can turn anything around with patience, grace, and a little rhythm.

The rain came down hard and often—off and on all day—and while my soaked overalls weren’t exactly ideal, the rain brought a sense of peace and fun. By the end of the day, most of us were dancing in it without a care. And to top it all off, Bo treated us to what I can only describe as the best noodles I’ve ever had in my entire life. Seriously—life-changing. Somehow, despite the mud, exhaustion, and soaked clothes, today was one of the most joyful days yet.
